USGS PDF TOPO! Maps (National Geographic)

National Geographic has built an easy to use web interface that allows anyone to quickly find any 7.5 minute topo in the continental U.S.A. for downloading and printing. Each topo has been pre-processed to print on a standard home, letter size printer. These are the same topos that were printed by USGS for decades on giant bus-sized presses but are now available in multi-page PDFs that can be printed just about anywhere.

Historic Aerials

Historic Aerials provides free online access to historical aerial photography, current aerial photos and topographic (topo) maps. You can view aerial photography from the 1920s through today. Use their multi-year comparison tools to detect changes in property.

Atlas of the Historical Geography of the United States

The digital edition of the Charles O. Paullin and John K. Wright’s Atlas of the Historical Geography of the United States, first published in 1932, reproduces all of the atlas’s nearly 700 maps. Many of these beautiful maps are enhanced here in ways impossible in print, animated to show change over time or made clickable to view the underlying data—remarkable maps produced eight decades ago with the functionality of the twenty-first century.

World Geography and World Culture Online

Filled with the most up-to-date information available, World Geography and World Culture Online provides more than 1,200 clear, reproducible, full-color maps. It also contains over 270 flags, accompanied by a wealth of statistics, images, and information about a location’s geography, government, history, society, and culture.
