Museum Pass Program: Print your museum pass now

***Starting February 26th, most museum passes can be borrowed and printed right from home using our new MuseumKey software! Search for the museum you want, pick a date that works for you, print out your pass, and head to the museum! See below for more information.

How do the Museum Passes work?

  • Grants free access for a certain number of visitors to that museum.
  • Reserve printable passes up to 30 days in advance.
  • You can search for availability by museum, date, or branch.
  • The Please Touch Museum must still be borrowed in person. All other museums are available via MuseumKey.

Museum Pass Rules:

  • Only GCLS adult cardholders may check out a museum pass.
  • GCLS adult cardholders are only able to reserve or check out one (1) Museum Pass at a time.
  • Printable passes may be reserved up to 30 days in advance, while physical passes are checked out on a first come, first served basis.
  • Museum passes are not transferable and can only be used by the person who has checked out the pass on their GCLS library card.

For Printable Museum Passes:

  • Click here to reserve a printable pass.
  • You may reserve one (1) pass at a time, up to 30 days in advance.
  • On the day of your visit, print the pass and present it at the museum.
  • The pass is only valid for the day that you have reserved it and must be printed out. Digital copies will not be accepted.
  • Printable passes do not need to be returned and cannot be renewed.

For Physical Museum Passes:

  • Physical museum passes can be checked out for one (1) week and cannot be renewed.
  • Museum passes are available on a first come, first served basis.
  • A $5.00 late fee will be charged to your account for each day the pass is overdue.
  • Museum Passes must be returned in their issued cases to the GCLS Branch Library in which it was checked out.
  • If for any reason the pass is not returned within 21 days of the due date, the full replacement cost of the pass will be charged to your account.

Reserving a Printable Pass
  • To search by museum, select the museum you want to visit from the list, then click “Check Dates” button.
  • Available dates will be marked with a plus sign, unavailable dates will be marked with an X.
  • Click the plus sign on your desired date, then click “reserve now,” and then follow the prompts to continue the reservation.
  • To reserve by date, select the date you would like to go on to see the list of passes available that day.
  • Choose the museum you would like to visit and click “Check Branch, then “reserve now,” and follow the prompts to continue the reservation.
  • If you try to reserve by branch, the only options available will be the printable passes. Click that button, then follow the prompts as above to reserve by date or museum.
