Margaret Dombrosky Swedesboro Public Library, one of the oldest libraries in the state of New Jersey, was established in 1783. The library was originally housed in the Borough Hall and was incorporated in 1937. Margaret Dombrosky Swedesboro Public Library became a branch of GCLS in 2005. On October 8th, 2022, the library was renamed the Margaret Dombrosky Swedesboro Public Library in honor of its now retired namesake who served for over 30 years as branch manager. Marge, as she prefers to be called, was instrumental in ushering in new technology, innovative programming, and a commitment to the community. She helped guide the library from an independent entity to becoming part of the county library system and, in 2009, oversaw the construction of the new addition to the original building.
