Overdrive eBooks - South Jersey Audiobook and eBook Download Center

Check out eBooks and eAudiobooks through Overdrive! This service is provided by the South Jersey Regional Library Cooperative. Got a mobile device? You can read and listen to your eBooks on the go with the Libby app!

Please note that the original Overdrive app was retired in 2022. Patrons currently using the Overdrive app should download Libby from their device's app store.

Libby is designed to make borrowing and enjoying eBooks and audiobooks easier than ever. Library patrons are encouraged to download Libby as the original Overdrive app will be retired by the end of 2022.

Adobe Digital Editions

Want to read just eBooks? You can also choose to download Adobe Digital Editions. ADE also allows you to read eBooks you have purchased from different apps and sites (such as iBooks or the Play Store). Downloading this is recommended if you will be downloading and purchasing books from a variety of sources.

ADE also allows you to transfer eBooks onto an eReader that doesn't support the app such as the Nook Color & Tablet.

Overdrive Read

Overdrive Read icon Don't want to have to download anything to get started reading or listen? Then Overdrive Read is for you! After you borrow a title, go to your library bookshelf where you can simply select "Read (in your browser)" or "Listen (in your browser)" and you can get started. Titles you choose to read through Overdrive Read cannot be read offline; you will need an internet connection.

Need Help with Overdrive?

Extensive Help Documentation is available on the Overdrive (via the South Jersey Audiobook and eBook Download Center) website. This Help section describes how to use the site, the Adobe Digital Editions software, the Overdrive Media Console, which devices are compatible with Overdrive eBooks, and more.

Having trouble accessing Overdrive on your Nook Color or Nook Tablet? Please note that Overdrive is no longer supported on these devices and Barnes and Noble has discontinued the Nook Store, so the app is now obsolete and website inaccessible. You can continue to download eBooks through Overdrive by connnecting your Nook to a computer or laptop. Detailed instructions are available on the Overdrive Help website. This does not affect the Nook HD models or the Samsung Galaxy Tab for Nook models.
