MyLibraryDV is a unique video-on-demand service created by Recorded Books in partnership with the Gloucester County Library. You can access hundreds of hours of DVD-quality programming such as cooking with America's Test Kitchen, travel with Rick Steves' Europe, and learning about collectibles with Antiques Roadshow. A new feature provides access to hundreds of feature films from Sony Pictures Entertainment and other Hollywood studios. MyLibraryDV is constantly adding entertaining and educational programming for you to enjoy. And since we offer simultaneous access there are never any holds on the videos you want to see! Best of all, all of these films are brought to you by the Gloucester County Library for FREE!
All you need for this FREE service is a GCLS library card in good standing, high-speed Internet access, and a PC with a Windows operating system (2000, XP, or Vista).
If this is the first time you have accessed MyLibraryDV on this computer, please click here. Then click on the MyLibraryDV icon to download a special viewer to view your films. Follow the instructions and in just a few minutes you can begin downloading your first videos.
If you have already downloaded the viewer on your computer you don’t need to download it again. You will find an icon on your desktop you should click on to open the viewer. Enter your 14-digit GCLS library barcode number to open the viewer. This may take a minute or two. If you are prompted to update your viewer, click on “Yes” to complete the update. To add the new entertainment content, let the viewer remain open for 10 to 30 minutes. If you click on “Movies” you will see the number of categories increase to include “Hollywood Favorites” and “Sony Pictures Entertainment.” At the end of this period, follow the prompt to restart the viewer. You’re now ready to watch your movies.
For the nonfiction, classic, and foreign film categories, you can “borrow” up to 10 videos in a seven-day period. The new entertainment categories allow you to download one film each day. You may view the films on your computer or (if your TV has an input for a computer) on the big screen. At the end of your seven-day loan period, the films will be automatically “returned.” You’ll never have an overdue fine!
Note that due to the need to download the viewer, you cannot use a library computer to download a video. You also cannot transfer a program to another storage device.Go to MyLibraryDV
