With gas prices up, we think MailLit is a good way for you to save money and get your items quickly, without the hassle of coming to the library to pick them up.
At this time, MailLit is only available to cardholders of the Gloucester County Library System. If you have a GCLS card, you may use our web-based catalog to place holds on your favorite book or audiovisual titles. Just point your browser to www.gcls.org and click on “Library Catalog.” Any title within the collections of the GCLS branch libraries can be mailed to you. The only exceptions are reference books and express titles. Books, audiobooks, music CDs and DVDs are all available.
When you place your hold, just be sure to click on the mail option. You may also place holds at any GCLS branch, by phone to your local branch, or via email to maillit@gcls.org, and request the items be mailed to you.
You may request a renewal on your holds, either via the web or by calling 856-223-6060 during regular library hours. Items on hold for others cannot be renewed. The due date on your items will be three weeks after they are mailed to you, which includes return time. Late items will incur a fine of 10 cents per day.
You will be responsible for returning your books on time. You may return them to any GCLS library branch or affiliated library. This is the most cost effective method. You may mail them back in the same bag you received them, but you are responsible for return postage (library rate). We will include a return label for your convenience. Just tape the bag shut.
