Databases
Gloucester County Library provides EBSCOhost to its patrons, which contains several health databases. The library also has the Health Reference Center database from Facts on File. Search these in the library - ask a reference librarian to get you started - or access them from home 24/7 using the barcode from your library card. Journals
The library maintains a subscription to JAMA, the Journal of the American Medical Association, The Mayo Clinic Health Letter, and The New England Journal of Medicine. Other periodicals that cover women's health issues include Runner's World, Self, Arthritis Today, and AARP, the Magazine.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention
Maintained by the lead federal agency concerned with protecting the health and safety of the American people. Under "Health Topics A to Z" go to "w" to find a section devoted to women's health. The "Traveler's Health" section provides timely worldwide information on disease outbreaks, as well as vaccinations required.
Healthfinder
A website developed and maintained by the US Department of Health and Human Services with other federal agencies. An award- winning site providing government and nonprofit health info on the Internet. Click on the "Just for You" link to find special topics just for women, as well as other demographic groups.
HealthWeb
A collaborative project of over 20 health sciences libraries, this site provides a vast amount of health information, with a special section on women's health.
Healthy NJ
Designed by the librarians at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ. Specifically developed with NJ consumers in mind. Go to "Health and Wellness" and then to "W" to find the article on women's health, with helpful NJ links.

From the National Women's Health Resource Center, located in New Brunswick, NJ, this site provides information on women's health topics and the latest discoveries in women's health.

National Women's Health Information Center
The ultimate federal government source dedicated solely to women's health issues, from the US Department of Health and Human Services. All aspects covered, from heart disease to menopause to smoking, to name a few topics.
Classes
