1) At the JerseyCat "Login" screen, click the "Begin" button. You will be taken to the main search page. This page shows all of the libraries that participate in JerseyCat. You may need to scroll down to see the entire list.

2) Some libraries already have a check mark next to their name. Please do your initial search with these libraries checked. If you have no success with your first search, then uncheck the libraries you have searched by clicking the check mark next to the library name. Select new search libraries by clicking the empty check boxes next to the library name.

3) Enter an author, title, subject, or other keyword(s) in the search box and then click the "Search" button. You can also click on the "Browse" or "Advanced Search" buttons in the navigation bar at the top of the page for addtional search options.

4) Your search results will then be displayed. The search results page will show a summary for each library catalog searched.

5) Select the location with the highest number in the results column. A list of results for that library catalog will be displayed.

6) Look through this list of results for the material you are seeking and click on the title to view the record for that title. You might need to browse to the next screen of results by clicking on the control buttons in the upper right-hand corner of the page below the "Help" button in the navigation bar.

7) If this is the item you are looking for, click on the "Request This Item" button. The "ILL Request Form" will be displayed. You will need scroll the page to complete the entire form.

8) Complete at a minimum the following fields on the form:

• Patron Name - First then last.
• Password - Create one of your own and make a note of it.
• Library Card Number - The 14 digit barcode number on your GCLS library card.
• Phone
• Email - If you have one. Please also include phone number as primary form of contact.
• Pickup Location - This is the library where you want to pickup the item. Please choose a location from the drop down menu.

9) Click the "Submit" button.

The library will contact you by phone when your items arrive.
