As part of their Community Services Unit, they offer the following programs:

Temporary
Handicapped Parking Permits can be obtained by residents with temporary
physical disabilities

Operation
ID is a cooperative effort between the East Greenwich Police Department
and residents to reduce property theft through an identification system.
Residents can borrow engravers from the department to mark their personal
property.

Security
Surveys are conducted by the Community Services Unit. Residents request
a survey of their home, and officers will make suggestions to improve
home security.
TRIAD is a countywide effort to assist those 55 years
and older with crime prevention and safety tips.

Neighborhood
Watch is a cooperative effort between residents and police to reduce
crime in the community.

House
Checks are performed on request by township officers while homeowners
are on vacation

DARE is
taught to the 6th grade students at Samuel Mickle Elementary School.
The program teaches kids to be drug, alcohol and tobacco free. It
also teaches kids to find positive alternatives, resolve disputes
without violence, and be respectful of the differences in people.

The East Greenwich Office of Emergency Management, established
by federal and state statutes, works to prevent emergencies and strives
to be prepared for any type of emergency that might occur. These goals
are accomplished through mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.

Community Outreach Programs offered include,
the Vial of Life, Knox Box, Flashing Beacon Lamps, House Numbering Assistance,
Blood Pressure Checks and Well Being Checks. They offer CPR and First
Aid Classes through the American Heart Association. A Safe Sitter program,
targeted for boys and girls age 11-13 is offered. Call them, or visit
