EAST GREENWICH TOWNSHIP
HISTORY
East Greenwich Township was created by an Act of the New Jersey
Legislature on February 10, 1881 from the eastern part of Greenwich Township
and the western part of Mantua Township. East
Greenwich currently includes the communities of Clarksboro, Mickleton, and
Mount Royal, and is located in Gloucester County, New Jersey.
A booklet featuring the history of East Greenwich was
published in 2004 by the Township Committee. A free copy is available at
the Municipal Building on Democrat Road.
Our Township historian is Janice Brown. She maintains a web site about East
